American Red Cross partners with Music Saves Lives to host special blood drive and offer free VIP backstage pass to The Vans Warped Tour
ST. PAUL, Minn. (June 16, 2008) – Music fans won’t have to wait in line for a chance at a backstage pass to The Vans Warped Tour on August 3 at Canterbury Park if they’re willing to help save lives and give blood to the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross and Music Saves Lives have partnered to help increase blood donations this summer by offering presenting blood donors at participating blood drives a free VIP backstage pass to The Vans Warped Tour. On Friday, June 27, the North Central Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross will host at Music Saves Lives blood drive at the St. Paul Masonic Center, 200 East Plato Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Every presenting blood donor at the blood drive will receive a free VIP backstage pass to The Vans Warped Tour (note: a concert ticket will still need to be purchased). Donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Space is limited and appointments are recommended. Eligible donors can call 1.800.GIVE.LIFE or go online to http://www4.givebloodgivelife.org/musicsaveslives/ for more information and to make a blood donation appointment.
Collecting blood during the summer months is often more difficult than during other times of the year. Colleges, universities and high schools, where up to 20 percent of the Red Cross’ blood donations come from, are not in session. By partnering with Music Saves Lives, the American Red Cross is providing these important blood donors a unique opportunity to help save lives by donating blood again.
